Life of a Runner: Jordan Adams

Hello, My name is Jordan Adams. I am currently a Freshman at Wilson High School. The past 2 years have been an amazing journey with very unpredictable outcomes. I am very excited to see what this new season has to bring to me and my teammates this year! Here's just a little about me:

This summer was a unusual busy one for me with spending time with my friends and training for the upcoming season. One of my many highlights of my summer was taking a trip to my hometown, Mobile, AL, to visit my family for a week. While most teenager's were sleeping in, I was waking up at 5 AM every morning. The location of my runs varied from a college track to a scenic park across town. So, I got to reconnect with the places I had been raised with while training!

The day after I had arrived home, I attended a local running camp . Runners came from all over the state to share the experience! I had quite a hard time finding a camp that was highly focused on training and had fun at the same time. I had never gotten the option of running with people my pace until I went. It was so different from my typical boring solo runs. I learned new things, which probably have saved me from getting injured. I loved this camp and will certainly return next year!

This year, my teammates are looking very strong. We have many new faces this year on both teams that can really add to the team. We will be focusing more on giving a stronger performance and pushing each other to our highest ability. I am very excited to see how the team performs this year vs. previous years.

My goals for this year is to have a better overall team ranking and seeing where I am ranked when running with the best from all over Alabama. I would like to perform as a tougher competitor and focus on lowering my times. I am just starting out my high-school years, so I have a few years to improve each time. Thank you to AlabamaRunners for giving me this opportunity to share my experience. It's a new season and it only get's better from here!
