LEXINGTON, VA At VMI gathered an assortment of AAA and AA schools from various parts of the state to put together a strong all around meet for many squads in attendance. Held in the indoor track facility commonly known as \"The Pit\" a few great performances were showcased.

The Woodbridge boys (41 pts) and Forest Park girls (42 pts) were the top teams of the day as both took home team titles. Woodbridge relied on their strength in sprint relays and field events to give them the win as Chezaray Conley was their sole event winner with a victory in the high jump (6-2).

Both \"elite\" 1600 meter runs were exciting on the boys\' and girls\' side as Ryan Witt of Midlothian (4:39) and Jennifer Beury of Hidden Valley (5:28) closed hard to secure wins over stiff competition.

The boys\' 55 meter dash and hurdles saw some quick early season times out of Potomac Senior\'s Joe Robinson clocking a 6.48 in the dash and Petersburg\'s Terry Thornton of Petersburg running a 7.78 in the hurdles.

The field events was were the best performances were found on the day as two Central District athletes shined the most. Dinwiddie\'s Wayne Odom started off his season with a great height of 13-03.00 in the pole vault and Colonial Height\'s John Bailey was a double winner in the long jump (21-02.00) and triple jump and triple jump (44-00.00)

Atlee took second to Woodbridge boys in the team scoring as they were helped largely by Matt Miller\'s winning toss in the shot put of 47-04.75 as well as a win in the 4x400 (3:37) as speedster Anthony Easter sealed the deal with a strong anchor on that leg.

With a runner-up finish to Midlothian (10:26) in the 4x800 meter relay with a time of 10:30 and a win in the 4x400 (4:22), the Forest Park girls earned their team win with much credit given to their relay performance as well as a few individuals. Beth Fahey\'s runner-up finish in the 1600 (5:29) behind Beury and Charity Lindsay\'s runner-up finish as well in the shot put further helped the Lady Bruins\'s cause.

Osbourn\'s Stephanie Myers dominated the jumps as she garnered wins in the high jump (5-02.00) and triple jump (33-10.50) as well as a second place finish in the long jump (15-07.50). She nearly won the meet for her team herself as she gave Osborn 32 of their 39 points as the squad finished two points off the team winner Forest Park.
