BIRMINGHAM—
Lutrisha Altidor of the Alabama State University women's indoor track team, has been named the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Female Track and Field Athlete of the Week.
Altidor, a junior from Apopka, Fla., won the 800m dash at the Saluki Open over the weekend. The Open was hosted by Southern Illinois University at Altidor's winning time of 2:17.44 was three seconds better than her season-opening time a week earlier.
Altidor was also a member of the 4x400m relay team, running the first leg in ASU's second place finish. The relay team ran the event in 3:54.47. It is the second time this season Altidor has received the honor.
