Note: Athletes who have been nominated in the past two weeks are not eligible. Previous winners are excluded for the rest of the season.
This Week's Nominees:
JaKayla Tamper, Pinson Valley High School (Alabama): Clocked 11.81 to win the 100 meters at the Jefferson County High School League Championship, breaking her PR of 11.91 set last April. The #2 sophomore in Alabama in the event posted the top time among this week's competitors.
Eva Armstead, Hatton (Alabama): Turned in a commanding four-event performance at the Muscle Shoals Invitational 2, winning three events and placing second in another. Posted the week's fastest 400 time at 55.01 and added wins in the 200 (24.82) and long jump (17-7.5). Finished second in the 100 at 12.31.
Brianna Stephens, Lee-Huntsville (Alabama): Won three events at the Last Chance Invitational, highlighted by a 5-8 high jump that led this week's competitors. Also captured the long jump at 18-1.25 and triple jump at 37-3. Ran 15.48 in the 100 hurdles for second place, breaking her PR of 15.67 set last March.
Alieah Nelms, Opelika High School (Alabama): Won the 200 meters at the Hewitt-Trussville Invitational in 24.41, posting the fastest time among this week's competitors. The #2 sophomore in Alabama in the event ran away from a field of 61 runners.
Trinity Milligan, James Clemens (Alabama): The top sophomore in Alabama in the triple jump posted this week's leading mark of 39-8.75 to win at the Blackbear Invitational. Also placed second in the long jump at 17-6.25.
