CLEMSON, S.C.—
Lutrisha Altidor won the women's 500 meter dash in today's opening day of the Clemson Invitational Indoor Track and field meet. Altidor finished the dash in 1:15.26.
The women also had several other top-10 finishes in the opening day of competition.
Tyrisha Chambers had a third-place finish in the women's high jump with a jump of 1.65m (5-05.00).
Shanice Mells had a strong women's weight throw with a third-place finish. Her throw was 17.20 m (56-05.25).
Tokeyah Jones and
Tia Rolle finished tied for fourth in the women's 60 meter dash. Both finished with times of 7.63.
Jahneel Tyrell finished 7
th in the women's triple jump with a jump of 10.45m (34-03.50) and
Raheema Hodges finished eighth in the women's 5000 meter run with a time of 20:46.87.
On the men's side,
Jeffery Adams had a strong fourth-place finish in the men's 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.13.
Vincent Butler finished sixth in the men's 300 meter dash finishing with a time of 35.39.
The Clemson Invitational will complete its competition tomorrow (Saturday).
