JSU To Host Southeastern Louisiana For Monday Hoops

LIVE STATS  |  LIVE AUDIO

JACKSONVILLE – The Jacksonville State men's basketball team will be at home on Monday at 7 p.m., when the Gamecocks host Southeastern Louisiana in a non-conference game at Pete Mathews Coliseum.

The Gamecocks (1-2) will be looking to turn things around after dropping a pair of road games last week at Norfolk State and VMI and will have to do so against a Lions (1-1) team that is coming off of a loss at UNLV on Wednesday. The game will be one of just four home games for JSU before the new calendar year.

JSU has been led by senior Nick Murphy, who is averaging 18.3 points and 7.0 rebounds per game early in the year. The Bronx, N.Y., native moved into second on the school's Division I career rebounds list in Thursday's game at VMI, giving him 535 career boards. He needs just nine more to pass JSU's Division I career leader Rusty Brand.

The Lions are looking to bounce back from a 92-56 loss in Las Vegas last week after opening with a convincing 91-45 win over Millsaps in their opener. They have played just two games so far and will return home for a pair of games after Monday's road matchup at JSU. SLU has been led by senior Trent Hutchin, whose 19.5 points per game have been bolstered by a 10-for-19 effort from behind the arc.

The game will be broadcast live on the JSU Radio Network with Mike Parris calling the action. Live audio and live stats will be available online at www.jsugamecocksports.com.
