Robson Leads JSU Men Into Second Place On Day One at Stetson

SECOND ROUND RESULTS

DeLAND, Fla. – The Jacksonville State men's golf team sits in second place headed into Tuesday's final round of the Stetson/CFSC Invitational at the Victoria Hills Golf Club.

Led by a two-under 142 from junior Tom Robson in Monday's first and second rounds, the Gamecocks shot a 578 (290-288) on the day, 10 strokes behind leader Florida Gulf Coast. JSU carded the low round in the morning 18 with a 290, but Florida Gulf Coast's 272 in the afternoon round put it in control of the nine-team field.

Robson, a native of Portsmouth, England, is tied for fifth after carding a three-under 69 in the morning round and a one-over 73 in the afternoon. Sophomore Andres Schonbaum is tied for 11th after turning in a two-over 146 over the first 36 holes. The Cordoba, Argentina, native was even after the first round and shot a two-over 74 in the second round.

Freshman Matthew Wallace struggled out of the gates with a 78 in the morning round, but the London, England, native answered with an afternoon 69 that pulled him into a tie for 13th in the 45-player field. Junior Alfonso Otoya sits in that 13th-place tie with a 147, as well, thanks to a 75 in the first round and a 72 in the second.

Brad Sill of USC Upstate is six-under after the first two rounds to lead the individual leaderboard with a 138 (70-68).

The final round of the 54-hole event will begin Tuesday morning.
