JACKSONVILLE – The Jacksonville State men's and women's tennis teams will be back in action this weekend, taking part in the USTA/ITA Southern Regional Championships. The men's regional will be hosted by the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, while the women's will be contested on the campus of Samford University in Birmingham.

This weekend's competition marks the second of the fall season for the Gamecock squads. Both teams competed in the Chattanooga Invitational in early October.

On the men's side, Jax State will be joined by 13 teams from across the states of Alabama, Louisiana and Mississippi. The teams slated to participate are Alabama, Auburn, Louisiana at Lafayette, LSU, Mississippi, Mississippi State, Samford, South Alabama, Southern Mississippi, Troy, Tulane, and UAB.

Joining the JSU women at Samford will be - Alabama, Auburn, Jacksonville State, Louisiana-Lafayette, Louisiana-Monroe LSU, Mississippi State, Northwestern State, Ole Miss, South Alabama, Troy, Tulane and UAB.

Play will get underway at 8:30 a.m. at both sites on Friday and run throughout the day.
