Live Stats

JACKSONVILLE - The Jacksonville State soccer team will close out the 2010 season with a trip to Cookeville, Tenn. to face Tennessee Tech on Friday. Match time is set for 3:30 p.m.

The Gamecocks, who wrapped up the home schedule last weekend with a pair of setbacks to Eastern Kentucky and Morehead State, will look to finish the season on a high note. JSU enters Friday's battle with the Golden Eagles with a 3-13-1 overall mark and 1-6 in Ohio Valley Conference play. Tech will begin the final weekend of the regular season at 3-11-1 overall and sports a 1-4-1 conference mark. Last weekend the Purple and Gold topped Southeast Missouri and recorded a draw with Eastern Illinois.

Friday's duel will be the tenth all-time between the two OVC programs with JSU holding a 5-1-3 advantage in the series. Jax State claimed its first win in the series since 2004 last season with a 3-2 win on its home pitch. The three draws are the most against any JSU opponent in the program's history.

Three departing seniors will suit up for the Gamecocks for the final time on Friday as defenders Alyshia Madison and Debbie Matich along with midfielder Alex Rustad will finish up their careers against Tech. Madison and Matich will be closing down four-year careers at JSU, while Rustad is competing a two-year stint after transferring from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. The tandem of Madison and Matich has combined to play in 138 matches, logging over 10,000 minutes in the defensive end of the pitch entering their final collegiate match. Rustad made an immediate impact from the first day she joined the program as she has turned in four goals and eight assists. She ranks in the top 10 in the OVC in assists this season.
