JACKSONVILLE – The Jacksonville State volleyball team will have a weekend at home for just the second time this season, beginning with a 7 p.m. match vs. Eastern Kentucky on Friday and wrapping up with a 1 p.m. meeting with Morehead State on Saturday.

The Gamecocks (11-9, 6-3 Ohio Valley Conference), who sit in fourth place in the OVC standings entering the second half of the conference schedule, will host two of the three teams ahead of them in the standings in less than 24 hours. EKU is in a second-place tie with Austin Peay, while Morehead State holds a two-game lead atop the standings. Both matches are free and are part of the Gamecocks' and the Side-Out Foundation's Dig Pink weekend. Free pizza will be available for all fans in attendance, as well.

In conjunction with National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the JSU volleyball team will be raising awareness and funds in the fight against Breast Cancer. Gamecock fans can donate to the cause on www.jsugamecocksports.com or at both events, where a table will be set up just off the court. Fans donating $25 or more at one of this weekend's matches will receive a free t-shirt. Fans are encouraged to wear pink to both matches to show their support.

The weekend will kick-start the Gamecocks' final stretch of the regular season with seven of their final nine matches at Pete Mathews Coliseum. They have played only three at home thus far, winning all three. Friday's match will be the first home match since Sept. 25.

JSU split its trip to face this weekend's foes earlier in the year. They took a hard-fought 3-1 win at Eastern Kentucky on Sept. 18, one day after dropping a 3-1 decision to Morehead State.
