MURRAY, Ky. – The Jacksonville State rifle team dropped a duel match with Ohio Valley Conference foe Murray State on Saturday at the MSU Pat Spurgin Rifle Range.

The Racers edged the Gamecocks by 16 points – 4642 to 4626. As a team, JSU garnered 2296 in the smallbore and turned in a 2330 in the air rifle portion. The Racers posted a 2290 in smallbore and clinched the win with a 2343 total in air rifle.

Jax State was led by freshman Samuel Muegge in the smallbore as he carded a 571. Junior Andrea Dardas led the Gamecock charge in air rifle with a 588 score. Emily Quiner of MSU claimed the top spot in smallbore after totaling a 587. MSU's Katie Cleven was the top finisher in air rifle at 594.

Jax State returns to action on Oct. 16 as it hosts Ole Miss and Nevada at the Gamecock Rifle Range.
