Live Stats

JACKSONVILLE – With the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament just around the corner, the Jacksonville State soccer team will begin the final stretch run on Friday as the Gamecocks travel to Clarksville, Tenn. to face OVC nemesis Austin Peay. Match time is set for 7 p.m.

JSU enters the pivotal match with a 3-10-1 overall mark and 1-3 within conference play after falling twice last weekend to Murray State and UT Martin. The Lady Govs sport a 9-4-1 record and 1-2-1 in OVC action. Live stats of the match will be available at www.JSUGamecockSports.com.

Jax State owns a 4-2-1 advantage over APSU dating back to the 2003 season. Last season, the Gamecocks blanked the Lady Govs 1-0 in the season finale. Both wins in the series for APSU have come at Morgan Brothers Soccer Field on the APSU campus.

The Gamecocks will look to snap a three-match losing streak since opening OVC play with a 2-1 win over Southeast Missouri. JSU has dropped decisions to Eastern Illinois, MSU and UTM in its last three outings and have been held scoreless on all three occasions. Junior Chelsea Pelletier continues to rank among the OVC leaders in goals scored as the forward from Ft. Worth, Texas has posted seven goals this season, which ranks second in the OVC behind Morehead State's Erin Adams' ten goals. In goal, sophomore Ali Koenig has turned in 68 of JSU's 76 saves this season as the Colleyville, Texas-native is listed third in the league in saves and averages 5.23 saves per contest.

Following Friday's road action, JSU returns home on Oct. 15 and 17 as they welcome OVC leaders Eastern Kentucky and Morehead State. The two matches will be the last home weekend for the Gamecocks. Jax State will recognize its three seniors – Debbie Matich, Alex Rustad and Alyshia Madison prior to the Sunday, Oct. 17 match.
