Cross Country Duo Receive SWAC Honor

Runners of the Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Alabama State University cross country runners Jephtah Kenei and Kesia Derilus have received the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Runners of the Week, announced by the league office.

Kenei won the Gulf Coast Stampede and helped the Hornets to a sixth-place finish in team standings. The senior from Kapsabet, Kenya, finished the 8k run in 26:02.

Derilus took seventh in the women's Gulf Coast Stampede 5k race. She led ASU to a third-place finish finishing the run in 19:13.20. Derilus is a junior from Royal Palm Beach, Fla.
