JACKSONVILLE – After being idle from competition last weekend, the Jacksonville State cross country team returns to action on Saturday evening at the Brooks Memphis Twilight Classic in Memphis, Tenn.

The classic features middle school, junior varsity and varsity events and concludes with the two college meets at 8:20 p.m. The women's 5K will precede the men's 9 p.m. 8K.

JSU is coming off a second-place finish on the women's side at the Georgia State Invitational on Sept. 10, while the men's squad claimed third-place in the GSU event.

Sophomore Ericka Stam has led the Jax State women in the first two meets of the year and has claimed bronze at the JSU/Struts Season Opener and placed second in her last outing at GSU. On the men's side, sophomore Matt Brick has been the top finisher for the Gamecocks, finishing sixth and third respectively.

The prestigious Twilight Classic, hosted by Christian Brothers University, will field 35 teams from the region, including Ohio Valley Conference foes Austin Peay, Eastern Kentucky, Murray State and UT Martin
