Gamecocks Remain No. 4 in FCS Top 25 Football Polls

Jacksonville State remained ranked No. 4 in the Top 25 football polls after winning its seventh straight game with a 34-27 overtime road win at Georgia State last week.

The seven-game winning streak is the longest for Jax State in 18 years and the eighth longest winning streak in the school's 107-year football history.

The Top 4 ranking is the highest ranking for an OVC team since Tennessee State was ranked No. 1 in 1999, and is the highest for the Gamecocks since moving to Division I in 1995.

Jacksonville State, which has a 19-6 record since 2008, has been ranked for 18 straight weeks in the Top 25 polls, which is the longest such stretch in the school's Division I history.

The Gamecocks are 3-0 for the first time since 2004 and will open Ohio Valley Conference play this Saturday at Eastern Illinois, who was picked second in the preseason OVC poll behind Jax State. Kickoff is set for 1:30 p.m. and the game can be heard on the JSU Radio Network at 1 p.m.
