McCorory wins MVP at Mobile Meet of Champions

MOBILE, AL -- Bethel junior Francena McCorory came away with MVP honors from the national caliber Mobile Meet of Champions held in Alabama this weekend. McCorory topped national class fields in the 100 and 200 meter dashes en route to taking the top honor of the meet. McCorory posted a time of 11.87 to win the 100 meter dash over Krystin Lacy of Texas (11.90). The clocking was just off her personal best time of 11.83. McCorory doubled back to run a personal best time of 23.85 in the 200 meter dash as she defeated one of the nation\'s top sprinters in Bianca Knight of Mississippi (23.89). Last year, Knight won both the 400 and 200 meter dashes at Mobile.

Despite having to run in lane one, the Bethel girls 4x100 meter relay team finished second in Alabama with a time of 47.30. 100 meter dash runner-up Krystin Lacy\'s Skyline squad (TX) won the event in a time of 46.27.

Bethel\'s Shakirra Pinnock also competed individually at Mobile as she finished fourth overall in the 400 meter dash with a time of 57.24.
