Gamecocks Ranked No. 4 in Football Top 25 Polls

Jacksonville State continued its climb in the Top 25 football polls after claiming a 21-17 win over Chattanooga and moved to No. 4 in both Football Championship Subdivision major polls, which were released on Monday.

The Gamecocks, 2-0 for the first time since 2004, moved up one spot to No. 4 in The Sports Network/Fathead.com poll, and moved up two spots to No. 4 in the FCS Coaches Poll.

It's the highest ranking for an Ohio Valley Conference team since Tennessee State was ranked No. 1 in 1999, and is the highest for the Gamecocks since moving to Division I in 1995.

Jacksonville State has been ranked for 17 straight weeks in the Top 25 polls, which is the longest such stretch in the school's Division I history.

The Gamecocks return to action this Saturday in Atlanta against Georgia State. Kickoff is set for 12 noon at the Georgia Dome, and the game will be carried live on CSS Television.
