JACKSON, Miss. – The Jacksonville State soccer team played to a 1-1 overtime draw with Jackson State on Sunday afternoon in Jackson, Miss.
JSU (1-4-1) registered the equalizing goal in the second half as
Lindsay Boehmler posted her second goal of the season. Freshman
Alison Gonzalez dished out her second assist of the season. The Gamecocks looked poised to take the lead as
Alex Rustad scored on a header from
Alyshia Madison, but the goal was nullified on an obstruction call.
The Tigers of Jackson State (1-2-1) scored its lone goal in the first 45 minutes.
After playing the last four matches on the road, the Gamecocks return to the JSU Soccer Field to next weekend, hosting the Adidas Gamecock Classic. JSU will take on Southeastern Louisiana on Friday, Sept. 10 at 7:30 p.m. Ohio Valley Conference member Austin Peay and Southern University will kick off the two-day event at 5 p.m. Admission is free to JSU Soccer matches.
