Jax State Football to Face LSU in 2015

JACKSONVILLE – Jacksonville State has signed a contract to play LSU in football for the 2015 season, JSU Athletics Director Oval Jaynes announced today.

“We're pleased to announce that we have signed a contract to play LSU during the 2015 season,” Jaynes said. “The Tigers are one of the premier programs in the country and they play in one of the toughest conferences that has produced the last four National Championships, including LSU's 2007 title.

“It will be a challenge for our team, but I know our coaches, players and fans will be excited about the opportunity to play in Tiger Stadium, which has one of the best atmospheres of any venue in college football,” Jaynes added.

The two teams will play on Saturday, September 5, 2015, and the financial terms of the contract were not announced.

Jacksonville State has faced just one other Southeastern Conference opponent, playing at Mississippi State in 2002 and again in 2006, but will open the 2010 season at Ole Miss, travel to face Kentucky in 2011 and will face Florida in 2012.
