JACKSONVILLE – The NCAA announced this morning that Jacksonville State will be the No. 4 seed in the Auburn baseball regional and play the Tigers on Friday at 6 p.m. at Plainsman Park.

Auburn, which enters with a 40-19 record, is the No. 1 seed, while Clemson is 38-21 and will be the No. 2 seed. Southern Miss is the No. 3 seed and enters with a 35-22 record, while the Gamecocks posted their seventh straight 30-win season with a 32-24 mark.

Jacksonville State won the Ohio Valley Conference's automatic berth after claiming the school's third OVC Tournament Championship with a 10-8 win over Tennessee Tech on Sunday.

“We are extremely excited about the opportunity to go to Auburn to play in the NCAA Regionals,” said Jim Case. “This is a great opportunity to allow our fans the opportunity to travel and watch us play close to home.”

The first game on Friday will feature Clemson and Southern Miss at 2 p.m., followed by Jax State and Auburn at 6 p.m.

The winner of the Auburn regional will play the winner of the Georgia Tech regional in next week's Super Regional.
