JACKSON, Tenn. – Jordan Beistline allowed just three hits in six innings out of the bullpen to lead Jacksonville State to a 9-7 win over Tennessee Tech as the Gamecocks advance to the OVC Championship Game for the sixth time since 2004.

Jacksonville State improves to 31-24 overall after winning its fourth straight over Tennessee Tech. The Golden Eagles drop to 31-24 and will have to beat the Gamecocks twice on Sunday.

Beistline threw 87 pitches in 6 1/3 innings on the mound to earn the win for the Gamecocks. The senior right-hander allowed just three hits vs Tech in 10 2/3 innings this season with six strikeouts.

Todd Hornsby recorded the final three outs to earn his fifth save of the season and the second of the tournament for the Gamecocks. TTU's Stephen Pryor gave up just three hits, but allowed four runs to get stuck with the loss for the Golden Eagles.

Tech took a 3-0 lead in the first inning after Austin Wulf scored on a passed ball, while Chad Oberacker had a RBI triple and Ben Burgess followed with a RBI double to give the Golden Eagles the early lead.

Jax State scored two runs in the second inning on a RBI singles by Daniel Adamson and Blake Seguin as the Gamecocks cut the lead to 3-2.

Tennessee Tech answered in the home half of the second half with a pair of runs on a two-RBI single by Burgess to give TTU a 5-2 lead.

Jax State battled back to score two runs in the fifth inning on a RBI single by Bert Smith and Todd Cunningham came in to score on a Tech throwing error as the Gamecocks cut deficit to 5-4.

Jacksonville State then tied the game in the sixth inning after Seguin had a two-out single and then stole second. Cunningham then had an infield single to third base, which allowed Seguin to score and tie the game at 5-5.

The Gamecocks took the lead for good in the top of the eighth inning after Segin recorded his fourth hit of the day to score Sam Eberle, and Cunningham followed with a RBI single to give JSU a 7-5 lead.

Jax State then took advantage of the fourth Tech error the day as Seguin scored on a bad throw, and Smith had a RBI single to right field to give the Gamecocks a 9-5 lead.

Tech added a run in the eighth inning on a solo home run by Devin Rivers and Burgess drove in the final run with a single to left in the ninth inning for the final margin.

Seguin tied a Gamecock OVC Tournament record by finishing with four hits, the fourth JSU player to have four hits in an OVC Tournament game. Cunningham, Smith, Adamson and Eberle each added two hits as the Gamecocks finished with 14 hits on the day.

Burgess led Tech with four hits and four RBI, while A.J. Kirby-Jones, Rivers and Oberacker each had two hits.

It was the 19th come-from-behind win for Jacksonville State this season and it was the fourth straight win for the Gamecocks over Tennessee Tech this season.
