JSU's Daniel Adamson Named OVC Player of the Week

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Jacksonville State's Daniel Adamson was named the Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.

Adamson posted a career-week after slugging four home runs and driving in 13 runs as the Gamecocks posted a 3-1 on the road.

The former Clay-Chalkville High School product had three multiple-hit games, including two grand slam home runs and an inside-the-park home run in the sweep at Morehead State. With the game tied at 5-5 in the top of the 10th inning, Adamson hit the first pitch he saw deep over the left field wall for a grand slam to give the Gamecocks the lead for good on Saturday in the opening game.

In the second game, he hit an inside-the-park home run in his third at-bat, and then followed with a grand slam in his next at-bat to left field. He had three straight 3-hit games, including three at at No. 16 Auburn, while also scoring on a four-base error on the Auburn centerfielder which could've been his second inside-the-park homer of the week.

The senior outfielder has reached base safely in 55 of his last 56 games dating back to last season and has 221 consecutive chances without an error from his center field position (dating back to last season). He became the 11th player in the school's Division I history to play error-free ball at the end of the regular-season, recording 142 putouts with two assists this season.

Jacksonville State returns to action this week in the Ohio Valley Conference Championship and will play Thursday at 3 p.m.
