TROY, Ala. – The Alabama State University track and field team participated Saturday in the Coach “O” Invitational hosted by Troy University as its final preparation for the upcoming Southwestern Athletic Conference Championships.

Senior Robert Gunn ran a time of 3:57.00 on his way to claiming the title in the 1500m while the ASU women's 4x100m relay team consisting of Jamie Brooks, Aja Hawkins, Dawn Hermanes and Tokeyah Jones finished first in the event with a time of 45.80.

Several other team members posted Top 10 finishes as the squads had their final tune-up heading into the SWAC Championships this week (Apr. 29-May 2) in New Orleans.
