DICKSON, Tenn. – Four Jacksonville State golfers were named to the 2010 Ohio Valley Conference All-Conference teams, which were announced Thursday evening at a banquet following the first day of play at the 2010 OVC Championships.

Sophomore Lucia Fernandez was a first-team selection, while Ashley Cox and Laura Cuter were both named to the second-team and Ornella Aaizon was named to the All-Newcomer squad.

Fernandez was second in the league in stroke average, shooting 76.3 per round over 24 rounds this season. She was an All-OVC second-team selection last season. She posted five top 10 finishes this year, including a win at the Pinehurst Fall Challenge.

Cox, who was a first-team pick last year, has a 78.13 stroke average entering the OVC Championship this year. The Oxford, Ala., native posted four top 19 finishes or beter and had 18 rounds in the 70s this year.

Cutler, who was also a second-team honoree last year, played in all nine tournament and finished with a 77.38 stroke average. She had 17 rounds in the 70s and had four finishes of 13th or better, including a tie for fourth place at the UNCW Lady Seahawk Classic.

Aaizon played in all nine tournaments as a true freshman to earn All-Newcomer honors. She posted five top33 finishes or better and had a career-best finish of sixth at the Troy Women's Invitational earlier this year.

Morehead State's Marisa Kamelgarn was been named the 2009-10 Ohio Valley Conference Freshman of the Year for women's golf, while the OVC Player and Coach of the Year awards will be announced Saturday afternoon following the final round of play at the Championship, which is being held at GreyStone Golf Club in Dickson, Tenn.
