BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – For the second week in a row, a pair of Alabama State University track and field student-athletes swept the Southwestern Athletic Conference Outdoor Track Performers of the Week honors as Shexnieavia Bryant and Delorean Peek were selected Thursday by the league office.

A junior thrower, Bryant collected a trio of Top 10 finishes during the War Eagle Invitational held in Auburn this past weekend. She placed fifth in the shot put (42'05.25”), ninth in the discus (139'09”) and 10th in the hammer throw (151'00”).

Peek, a junior sprinter, raced to a third-place finish in the 400m (46.47) at the AU event and also was a member of ASU's first-place finishing 4x400m relay squad.

The Hornet duo and their teammates next compete Saturday at the Coach “O” Classic hosted by Troy University. The 2010 SWAC Outdoor Championships are slated for Apr. 29-May 2 in New Orleans.
