PADUCAH, Ky. – No. 5 Eastern Kentucky won four singles matches to erase an early 1-0 deficit and upset top seeded Jacksonville State 4-2 in the semi-finals of the 2010 Ohio Valley Conference Tennis Championships at the Heflin Tennis Center.

Martina Dessbesell and Viviane Marani defeated Jessica Albuquerque and Anais Hamel, 8-1 at No. 1 doubles. Kimberly Ferris and Ralphaela Lima edged Anouk Faure and Alyze Pagal, 9-7 at No. 2 to give JSU the doubles point.

Dessbesell claimed the only point in singles for the Gamecocks, defeating Albuquerque, 6-2, 6-0 at No 2.

The Gamecocks had a six-match winning streak and a nine match OVC win streak stopped, finishing the season 13-9 overall. EKU advances to play Austin Peay in the OVC Championship match on Sunday.
