PADUCAH, Ky. – No. 6 Murray State narrowly won the doubles point and the won four singles matches to upset No. 3 Jacksonville State in the first round of the 2010 Ohio Valley Conference Tennis Championships at the Lone Oak Tennis Center.

The fight for the doubles point came down to the wire. Jacksonville State's Nenad Marcec and Gustavo Holz defeated Renaldo Domoney and Luka Milicevic, 8-2 at No. 2 doubles. The Gamecocks had match points at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles but could not close out the matches as the Racers took a 1-0 lead into singles.

Murray State posted wins at No. 1, No. 2 and No. 6 singles to wrap up the match. Holz recorded JSU's lone point with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Mason Johnson at No. 5.

The Gamecocks finish the season with a 9-11 overall record and a 5-2 OVC record. Murray State advances to play No. 2 Tennessee Tech on Saturday at 10 a.m.
