NASHVILLE – Jacksonville State's Viviane Marani and Nenad Marcec were named the Ohio Valley Conference Men's and Women's Tennis Athletes of the Week released by the conference office on Wednesday.

Marani went 4-0 at No. 1 singles to helped Jacksonville State to a 4-0 week and to their fifth straight win. The junior from Brazil also went 3-1 at No. 1 doubles and her three-set win against UT Martin gave the Gamecocks the win over the Skyhawks.

Marcec went 2-0 at No. 3 singles and posted a 2-0 doubles record. His doubles win against Eastern Illinois helped the Gamecocks win the doubles point.

Jacksonville State hosts Mercer University at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday at the JSU Tennis Courts.
