CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – The Jacksonville State women's tennis team completed a three-game Ohio Valley road trip with a 6-1 win over Southeast Missouri State on Saturday at the Redhawk Tennis Complex.
The Gamecocks won their fourth straight match to improve to 10-8 overall and 6-0 in the OVC while the Redhawks dropped to 2-14 overall and 1-6 in conference play.
JSU won all three doubles matches to take a 1-0 lead into singles and then put the match away with five singles victory.
Viviane Marani and
Martina Dessbesell beat Alyce Kelly and Elise Nattier 8-2 at No. 1 and
Kimberly Ferris and Ralphaela Lima won 9-8 overall Ashton Hartley and Diana Donslovic at No 2.
Marani blanked Kelly, 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 and Dessbesell won 6-1, 6-1 over Nattier at No. 2.
Kimberly Ferris beat Hartley, 6-0, 6-1 at No 3 while Lima eased past Laura Garcia, 6-0, 6-3 at No. 5. Fuller accounted for JSU's sixth point with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Sara Pettigrew at No. 6.
Jacksonville State hosts Mercer at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday at the JSU Tennis Courts.
