Landstown Beach Meet:  Justin Hunter, Ocean Lakes VA, went 25-2.5 in the long jump for US#1. 

 

 

Benton Spring Fling:  Zach Riley, Herrin IL, won the high jump to join the 7-foot club with a US#3 (Tie) 7-2 leap.  Cody Klein, Sparta IL, won the pole vault to become the 2nd prep vaulter over 17' with a US#2 leap of 17-00.

 

 

Reed Sparks Rotary Invite:  Kasen Covington, Capital NV, won the triple jump with a stretch out to 52-4w, just a quarter-inch off Sanders mark in FL.  Covington also won the long jump with a 23-4.75.  Zach Stetler, Elko NV, tied for US#4 with a discus toss of 185.  

 

 

Vince Bradford Relays:  Blacksburg VA girls rolled to a US#1 4x800 with a 9:09.39 clocking.  They also won the girls 4x1600 meter relay with a US#1 time of 20:52.06.  Both marks were meet records.

 

 

2010 Youth Olympic Trials:  Hannah Carson, Chandler AZ, unleashed a monster 171-9 in the javelin for US#1.  Olivia Ekpone, Northwest MD, won the 200 meter dash with a blazing new US#1 time of 23.64.  Robin Reynolds, Miami Jackson FL, rocked the 400 with a US#1 53.48.  Chamique Francis, Benjamin Cardozo NY, was 2nd with a US#2 time of 53.86.  Trinity Wilson, St. Mary's College CA, won the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 13.93.  Amber Bryant-Brock, McEachern GA, won the 400 meter hurdles with a US#1 time of 1:00.61.  Destiny Jenkins, Athens Christian GA, won the 2k Steeple with a US#1 7:33.48.  Shelby Ashe, St. Pius X, (US#1 185-6) won the hammer throw with a mark of 183-4.  Najee Glass, St. Peter's Prep NJ, won the 400 meter dash with a US#3 time of 47.72.  Kenneth Minkah, Desoto TX, ran a 14.32 to win the 110 hurdles into a stiff headwind.  Gunnar Nixon, Sante Fe OK, won the 400 meter hurdles with a blazing 52.66.  Gregory Coleman was 2nd with a 52.69.  Nathan Loe, Woodland GA, threw a 205-4 for the win in the Hammer throw.  Devin Bogert won the javelin with a toss of 230-00. 

 

 

Liberty-Benton Relays:  Justin Welch, Eastwood OH, won the discus with a US#1 toss of 199-11. 

 

 

Trabuco Hills Invitational:  Blake Ahrold, Dana Hills CA, won the 3200 meter run in 9:13.77.  Junior Jantzen Oshier, Trubuco Hills CA, won the 800 meter run in 1:55.87.  Junior Jaye Buchbinder, Chadwick CA. won the girls 800 in 2:15.29.  First over the line in the 400 meter dash was Jonathan Berry-Smith of Oxford Academy in 47.99.  The girls 400 dash winner was freshman Chimere Ezumah from Serra (Junipero).  Ezumah's time was 55.06.  Vanessa Jones, Etiwanda CA, was close behind in 55.40.  Servite boys won the DMR in 10:27.81 for a US#10.  Daelin Clay, Polytechnic LB, won the boys 200 meter dash in 21.68.  Sophomore Steve Michaelson, Newport Harbor, had the highest throw of the day in the shot put of 59-08.00 for a US#10.   The girls from Polytechnic Long Beach ran the 4x100 meter relay in 47.01 for a US#8.   Freshman Jordie Munford, Etiwanda, won the 300 meter hurdles with a US#5 time of 43.35.   Nicole Larson, Upland Ca, jumped 12-6 in the pole vault for a US#7.  US#1 Tara Richmond, Polytechnic Long Beach, won the high jump with a jump of  5-8.  Saturday Results  Friday Results

 

 

Westlake Lions Relays:  David Smith, Lovejoy GA, floated to a monster 7-4 in the high jump to take the US#1 lead in the event.  Live Results Here

Saturday: Miami Southridge FL, ripped a US#1 3:42.45 girls 4x400 in the heart of Florida!  Kentrell Sanders, South Dade FL, won the triple jump with a monster 52-4.25w.  Sanders was also wind-legal for a 50-10.25 for US#1.  St. Thomas Aquinas FL won the boys 4x400 with a time of 3:17.73.  Miami Southridge FL won the girls 4x100 relay with a time of 46.86.  Charlotte FL won the boys 4x800, improving their US#1 time to 7:46.24.  Gonzaga MD was 2nd with a US#2 time of 7:47.24.  Gonzaga's splits were Ben Zeiss 1:58.8, Kevin Greene 1:56.9, Will Fleury 2:00.3, and Billy Ledder 1:50.9.  Brookwood finished 3rd with a US#4 time of 7:51.45.  Brookwood girls won the 4x1600 meter relay with a time of 21:32.57.  Lake Brantley won the boys 4x1600 with a time of 18:25.30.  Dr. Krop FL won the girls 4x800 with a time of 9:24.17. 

 

Friday: Soph Ebony Rose, Dr. Krop FL, won the 800 meter run with a US#4 time of 2:12.14.  Kathryn Fluehr, Naples FL, won the girls 3200 with a time of 10:32.49.  Sister Erika was 2nd in 10:43.24 after falling.  Isaiah Smith, Lake Weir, won the boys 800 meter run with a time of 1:52.61--running in his first big 800m race ever!  Shelby Hayes, Winter Park FL, comes back from injury (season debut) to win the girls 1600 meter run with a time of 4:53.38.  Tyler Anyan, Brookwood GA, won the boys 1600 over teammate Carter Hewitt, 4:12.43 to 4:12.50.  Ryan Lankford, Paxon School FL, won the 100 meter dash with a US#3 10:41w.  Octavious Freeman, Lake Wales FL, won the girls 100 dash with a time of 11:51.  Kayla Parker, Port St. Joe FL, won the girls 110 meter hurdles with a US#4 time of 13.96 after earlier winning the long jump.

Saturday: Houston Westbury TX won the girls 4x200 relay with a blazing 1:35.75 for US#1 and US#7 All-Time.  H-Westbury also won the 4x400 relay with a US#2 time of 3:44.13.  Jerron Robinson, Travis TX, won the high jump with a US#4 leap of 7-2.  Ashley Collier, Forth Worth Dunbar TX, won the girls 100 meter dash with a time of 11.59.  Justin Gilbert, Huntsville TX, won the boys 100 meter dash with a time of 10.68.  Killeen Ellison TX was equally as impressive in the boys 4x200 with a US#1 clocking of 1:24.47.  Miami Northwestern FL won the boys 4x400 with a US#2 time of 3:14.32.  Casey Wicker, Dallas Jesuit TX, won the boys pole vault with a US#2 mark of 16-8.  Mark Thomas, Lorena TX, was 2nd with a US#3 jump of 16-4.  Mark Jackson, Taylor TX, won the triple jump with a 50-6 for US#2.  Jackson also hit a US#2 long jump yesterday of 24-8.25.  Chelsey Sveinsson, Greenhill TX, followed up her 3200 win last night with a 1600 win today in 4:51.33, with no one there to push her.  Kendall Hayes, Lancaster TX, rocked the 110 hurdles for a US#1 time of 13.73.  A'Lexus Brannon, Beaumont Ozen TX, won the girls 100 hurdles with a US#2 time of 13.73.  She also won the triple jump with a US#2 mark of 40-10.50 and the long jump with a 19-1.25.  Southlake Carroll TX boys posted a quick US#2 DMR time of 10:14.18 to win over Georgetown TX, who finished with a US#4 time of 10:17.77.  Humble Kingwood TX girls won the DMR with a US#4 time of 12:07.28.  Mansfield Timberview TX won the girls 4x100 relay with a US#4 time of 46.23.  Keep checking back all day for updates!

 

Friday: Chelsey Sveinsson, Greenhill TX, rolled to a monster US#1 time of 10:07.15 for a new stadium record.  Amanda Russell, Vista Ridge TX, was 2nd in 10:39.31.  Craig Lutz, Flower Mound TX, and Ryan Dohner, Klein Oak TX, rolled to sub-9's in the boys 3200 with Lutz taking the win 8:58.71 to 8:59.14.  Klein Collins TX won the girls 1600 SMR with a huge US#1 time of 3:58.90.  9 teams were under 4:05.  Lancaster TX went US#1 in the boys 1600 SMR with a time of 3:27.36.  Derwin Graham, Copperas Cove TX, rolled to a new 2k Steeplechase #1 with a time of 6:04.62.  Georgetown TX, blazed to a US#2 7:48.25 for a new stadium record.  Houston Westbury TX, ran a US#1 time of 1:37.37 in the girls 4x200 prelims and followed it up with a 3:46.19 in the 4x400 prelims.  Mansfield Timberview TX is also through with a 3:47.16 as is DeSoto TX, 3:47.43.  US#1 Houston Lamar (3:44.14) is also through with a relaxed 3:48.80.  6 girls teams were under 3:50.  Kingwood Park TX, current boys US#2 (3:14.49), ran a 3:14.55 to take the top qualifying spot.  8 teams were under 3:17.  Preview:  Chelsey Sveinsson, TX, and Marielle Hall, NJ, and Rachel Johnson, TX, will square off in the 1600 and all three will return for the 3200 meter run as well.  The biggest question of the day will be:  Can Chelsey go sub-4:40 and sub-10:10?  Craig Lutz, TX, should be by himself in the boys 3200 and will have a shot at sub-9.  Prezel Hardy, TX, and Sheriod Evans, TX, will face-off in the 100 meter dash, likely producing a very quick time.  (Photos by Alex Aldaco)

 

 

Blue Devil T&F Invite:  Tanner Anderson, East Burke NC, went 7-00 last weekend and followed it up this weekend with a US#2 clearance of 7-3.25.  Tanner also had 3 looks at 7-4.

 

 

Westfield DMR Invitational:  West Windsor Plainsboro North NJ squared off with West Orange NJ to get a qualifying time for the Penn Relays.  Both teams succeeded with West Windsor winning in 10:19.59 to West Orange's 10:19.90. 


 

Mobile Challenge of Champions: Cory McGee, Pass Christian MS, won the mile run with a US#1 time of 4:49.76.  James Harris doubled up with a 6-10 high jump win and a 48.34 400 win.  Morgan LeLeux, LA, won the pole vault with a mark of 13-0.  Preview: The fields are deep here but the highlights have to be Morgann Leleux, LA, the class of the girls pole vault this year with a PR of 13-7.  The boys high jump is also a highlight with James Harris, AL, clearing 7-3 this year.  Harris is scary-consistent right now, as his series to 7-3 was 7-0, 7-1, 7-2, and 7-3, all on first attempts!  He will be joined by previous 7-footers Justin Fondren, MS, and Darius King, GA.  AlabamaRunners.com Preview
