NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Jacksonville State captured a 6-1 Ohio Valley Conference win over Tennessee State on Saturday afternoon at the Tiger Tennis Courts.

JSU won two doubles matches and received a default at No. 3 to earn the doubles point. Chris Duke and Axel Sunberg beat Lawrence Washington and Justin Hamm 8-5 at No. 1 doubles and Gustavo Holz and Nenad Marcec downed Aaron and Austin Fields at No. 2.

The Gamecocks won four singles matches and got another default at No. 6 singles for points. Sunberg won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 over Hamm and Marcec beat Aaron Fields, 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3. Christ Duke won 6-0, 6-1 over Austin Fields at No. 4 and Igor Santos led 2-0 before Micah Poole retired at No. 5.

Jacksonville State hits to road to play Murray State on Thursday at 10 a.m. in Murray, Ky.
