JSU Track and Field Saturday Results From The Alabama Relays

acksonville State turned in some top finishes in respective sections during Saturday's events at the 2010 Alabama Relays at the Sam Bailey Track on the University of Alabama campus.

Laveeta Oliver won section four of the 200-meter dash with a 24.98 for ninth overall while Elizabeth Bond was second in the section with a 25.92, 28th overall.

Latasha Sturkie turned JSU's top time in the 400-meter hurdles with a 1:06.32 to finish fifth in section three. Shira Butler ran a 1:07.32 to win section five and take 25th overall. Butler was second in section five with a 1:08.58, placing 28th overall.

Tasheilra Jones was second in section four of the 400-meter dash with a 58.89, just missing her personal mark of 58.83 while Bond was fourth in section two with a 57.19 (14th overall), also just off her personal mar of 57.12.

Courtney Clark was not far from a personal record of 12:41 in the 100-meter dash, clocking a 13.24 to finish fourth in section eight.

Ashley Stovall finished fourth overall in the 10,000-meter run, running a 38:55.01 while Ericka Stam was third in section three of the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:55.89 (24th overall). Danielle Florey placed 58th overall with a 5:25.03.

Erika Thompson was ninth in the high jump with a height of five-feet, five inches and Donnell Nocero was 17th with at five-feet, one-inch.

The Alabama Relays continue with events scheduled all day on Sunday.
