JACKSONVILLE – Igor Santos captured a three set win over William Disterdick at No. 5 singles to give Jacksonville State (2-6) a 4-3 win over Chattanooga (1-7) on Wednesday at the JSU Tennis Courts.

With the match tied 3-3, Santos and Disterdick split the first two sets by identical 6-4 scores before Santos steam rolled to a 6-1 win in the third set to clinch the overall win.

Chris Duke defeated Sam Parfitt 7-5, 6-3 at No. 4 singles and Nenad Marcec defeated Jackson Tresnan 6-3, 6-4 at No. 3 singles for JSU's other two singles points.

JSU won two of three doubles matches to take a 1-0 lead into singles. The team of Duke and Sunberg won 8-4 over Ryan Pool and Parfitt at No. 1 doubles and Felipe Watanabe and Santos beat Stephen Crofford and Christ Smith 8-6 at No. 3.

Jacksonville State hosts three matches this weekend at the JSU Tennis Courts starting on Friday against Alabama State at 1:30 p.m. followed by Austin Peay on Saturday at 10 a.m. and Southern Illinois on Sunday at 11 a.m.
