MOBILE – Jacksonville State shot a 316 and is tied for eighth place after Monday's opening round of the USA Lady Jaguar Invitational, played at the par-72, 6,071 yard Azalea City Golf Course.

Florida International finished with a 301 to hold a one-shot lead over Troy in the 16-team Field. Stetson (303) is third, followed by Memphis, Winthrop, Lamar, Samford, while the Gamecocks are tied with South Alabama and West Florida with a 316.

Laura Cutler and Ornella Arrizon each shot a 4-over par 76 to tie for 10th place to lead the Gamecocks. Ashley Cox is tied for 42nd after carding an 81, while Lucia Fernandez shot an 83 and Luz Armijo Fernandez finished with an 84.

Jacksonville State will tee off at 8 a.m. on Tuesday and will play with Samford and South Alabama.
