WASHINGTON, D.C. –
Senior Jolie Efezokhae recorded her 59th career game in double figures with 11 points to move into second place on Jacksonville State's career games scoring in double figures list in Thursday's 70-39 loss at No. 11 Georgetown University.

Efezokhae, who returned to the lineup after missing the last five games with an ankle injury, surpassed Tracy (Linton) Broom for second place on the career games scoring in double figures list. Efezokhae now has scored 1,205 career points and remains fifth on JSU's all-time scoring list.

Brittany Wiley Destiny Lane and Danielle Vaughn followed Efezokhae with six points while Lane led JSU with four rebounds.

Monica McNutt scored 18 points, including five of the Hoyas 10 three-pointers on the night, to lead GU. Leading scorer Sugar Rodgers added 12 points and tied Alexa Roche with a game-high six rebounds.

The Hoyas pressure defense forced 20 of JSU's season-high 31 turnovers in the first half and held JSU to 27.8 percent shooting from the floor to hold a 33-11 lead at halftime. JSU's 11 points was a season-low for points in a half eclipsing the old season-low of 12 points against Savannah State on Dec. 17.

The Gamecocks did heat up in the second half shooting 45.8 percent from the floor and connected on five three-pointers. Georgetown shot 55.6 percent in the second half and was five-of-seven from beyond the arc for 71.4 percent.

Jacksonville State now turns its attention to its final regular season game against Tennessee Tech on Saturday at 5 p.m. in Cookeville, Tenn.

The Gamecocks must win to get into the 2010 Ohio Valley Conference Tournament after Tennessee State's win over Southeast Missouri State on Thursday.

Saturday's game will be broadcast on WLJS 91.9 FM with Mike Parris calling the play-by-play.
