WASHINGTON, D.C. –
Jacksonville State closes out the 2009-10 regular season against No. 11 Georgetown University at 6:30 p.m. central on Thursday before battling Tennessee Tech in an important Ohio Valley Conference game on Saturday at 3 p.m.

The Georgetown game is a rescheduled game from Dec. 20 when the Washington D.C. area was hit by a snow storm that caused the game to be cancelled after the air port was shutdown.

Jacksonville State is 9-18 overall and 6-11 in the Ohio Valley Conference following a 67-65 win over Tennessee State last Saturday. Brittany Wiley and Danielle Vaughn recorded double-doubles in the same game for the second time this season against the Tigers. Vaughn tied a career-high with 16 points and collected a career-high 16 boards and Wiley added 13 points and 10 boards.

The Carrollton, Ga., duo of Wiley and Karisma Boykin lead the Gamecocks in scoring. Wiley is leading the way with 9.8 points per game and grabs 5.7 rebounds per contest. Boykin averages 8.4 points per game and Vaughn is third with 7.8 points per game and is second with 5.6 rebounds per game.

Georgetown enters the game on a three game winning streak and has won six of its last seven games that include a 76-66 over then No. 3 Notre Dame and a 70-54 win over Villanova on Tuesday.

Following the GU game, Jax State will play a key OVC game against Tennessee Tech on Saturday at 5 p.m. in Cookeville, Tenn., that will go a long way towards settling the remaining seeds for the OVC Women's Tournament field. The Eagles are 13-15 overall and 7-10 in the conference and currently in a tie for sixth.

The Gamecocks are currently in ninth place and with a win will secure at least the eighth seed and with a little help could end up as high as a sixth seed in the tournament. A JSU loss will need Tennessee State to lose both of its final two games this week for the Gamecocks to return to the tournament field for the third straight year.
