MONTGOMERY – The Jacksonville State men's tennis (1-4) captured its first win of the season by blanking Alabama State 7-0 at the ASU Tennis Complex on Tuesday.

Gustavo Holz and Brian Kenyon won 8-0 over Denys Alyeksyeyeu and Lex Pierre at No. 1 doubles and Nenad Marcec and Axel Sunberg defeated Lance Delston, Jr, and Cliff Frazier 8-2 to give JSU the doubles point.

The Gamecocks swept the six singles matches. Kenyon downed Alyeksyeyeu, 7-6, 6-4 at No. 1 singles and Sunberg win 6-0, 6-0 over Frazier at No.2. Holz upended Pierre 6-3, 6-3 at No 4 while Marcec beat Roddrick Ivory 6-2, 6-0 at No. 5 and Brian Ingram earned a 6-0, 6-2 win over Delston at No. 6.

The Gamecocks match at Chattanooga set for Wednesday has been rescheduled for Wed., March 3 at 1:30 p.m. at the JSU Tennis Courts. JSU opens Ohio Valley Conference play this weekend at Tennessee Tech on Saturday at 11 a.m.
