KIAWAH ISLAND, SC – Jacksonville State shot an opening round of 323 and is tied for 22nd place after Sunday's opening round of the Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Classic, played at the par-72 Oak Point Golf Club.
Augusta State leads the 28-team field with a 284, while East Carolina is six shots back at 290 and Western Carolina is third with a 293.
Laura Cutler shot the low round of the day for JSU with an even-par 72 and is tied for eighth place. Lucia Fernandez is tied for 42 with a 76, while
Ashley Cox posted an 85. Luz Armijo shot a 90 and
Ornella Arrizon finished with an opening round 96.
Jax State will play with Richmond and Toledo on Monday at 9:15 a.m.
