JSU Men To Host Blue Hose on Senior Night

LIVE STATS  |  LIVE AUDIO

JACKSONVILLE – The Jacksonville State men's basketball team will close its home schedule on Saturday at 7 p.m., when the Gamecocks host Presbyterian College on senior night.

The Gamecocks will take the floor at Pete Mathews Coliseum for the final time in the 2009-10 season on
Saturday, when they host the Blue Hose as part of the 2010 Bracketbusters event. JSU and PC will be squaring off on the hardwood for the second time in the programs' histories and the first time since 1971, when the Gamecocks defeated the Blue Hose in Jacksonville, 102-78.

The game will mark the final one at The Pete for JSU's lone senior, fan favorite Amadou Mbodji. A 6-foot-9 forward from Kaolack, Senegal, has suited up for the Gamecocks over 100 times in his four-year career and will leave JSU as the school's career leader in blocks at the Division I level. Mbodji has swatted 158 shots in his career, while scoring over 500 points. Earlier this month, Mbodji also became just the second player in JSU's Division I history to pull in 500 rebounds in a career. An exercise science and wellness major with a minor in management, he received his degree in the fall of 2009 and is currently pursuing his masters degree at JSU.

The Gamecocks are looking to get things moving on the right track after dropping their last three games, including a pair of road games at Austin Peay and Tennessee State earlier in the week. The matchup with Presbyterian will mark JSU's fourth game in the last 10 days.

A new member of the Big South Conference, the Blue Hose are in their transition period to Division I, currently leaving them ineligible for their conference tournament. This marks the first season they have participated in the Bracketbusters event.

Chase Holmes leads PC in scoring with 14.1 points per game, while Jake Troyli is their only other player averaging in double figures at 12.3 ppg. They come into the game having lost four in a row, including a 69-66 overtime loss to UNC-Asheville on Sunday.
