MACON, Ga. – Mercer University captured the doubles point and then won three singles matches to escape with a 4-3 win over the Jacksonville State men's tennis team on Thursday.
The Gamecocks won at number one, two and four singles for their three points.
Brian Kenyon defeated Evandro Rosindo 7-6, 5-6, 7-6 at No. 1 and Axel Sunbert won a 3-6, 7-6, 7-5 decision over Cody Provence at No. 2.
Nenad Marcec put the final point on the board with a 7-6, 2-6, 7-6 win over Mathew Poleon at No. 4 singles.
The Gamecocks are back in action on Wednesday against Samford University at 2 p.m. at the JSU Tennis courts.
