JACKSONVILLE – The Jacksonville State basketball team will host Presbyterian College on Feb. 20 as part of the annual BracketBusters event, the Gamecocks learned on Monday.

JSU (10-11, 6-5 Ohio Valley Conference) was paired with the Blue Hose (4-19, 2-9 Big South Conference) as part of the pool of non-televised games that result in the event. The game will tip at 7 p.m. at Pete Mathews Coliseum. It will be the second time the two have played on the hardwood, with the Gamecocks winning the first meeting on Dec. 17, 1971, 102-78.

This season marks the Gamecocks' fifth consecutive season to compete in the BracketBusters event and is their third time playing the game at home. JSU will have to return to the game to the Blue Hose in Clinton, S.C., as a non-conference game next season. The Gamecocks traveled to Georgia Southern in last season's event.

Presbyterian is in its transition period to Division I and is playing a full schedule in the Big South but isn't eligible for postseason play. The Blue Hose are coached by Gregg Nibert, who is in his 21st season at the helm of the program.

Chase Holmes leads PC in scoring so far this season with 13.5 points per game, while Jake Troyli is pitching in 12.2 points while averaging a team-best 5.6 rebounds per contest.

All 10 OVC programs will participate in the BracketBusters event this season, with first-place Murray State landing the league's only television game. The Racers will learn their opponent on Monday evening.
