JACKSONVILLE --
Southeast Missouri State and Eastern Illinois visit Pete Mathews Coliseum for a pair of Ohio Valley Conference games this Thursday and Saturday. Thursday's game versus Southeast Missouri is scheduled for a 5:15 p.m. tip off while Saturday's Eastern Illinois contest is slated for a 2 p.m. start.

The Gamecocks are trying to rebound from a 78-70 loss to Austin Peay last Saturday, entering Thursday's tilt with a 6-13 record and a 3-6 OVC mark.

Brittany Wiley is averaging a team-best 9.5 points per game and 5.4 rebounds per game, ranking 19th in scoring and 15th in rebounding in the OVC. Karisma Boykin ranks sixth in the OVC with 3.1 assists per game while averaging 8.4 points. Danielle Vaughn is the second leading rebounder with 4.6 boards per contest and is tied for third in the OVC with 0.8 blocks (12 total).

Southeast Missouri has lost two straight games, falling to Murray State 90-72 last time out. The Redhawks are 6-12 overall and 3-6 in the OVC.

Jasmine Davis is averaging 10 points per game and Lesley Adams is pulling down 6.8 rebounds a game to lead SEMO.

Jacksonville State is looking to end long losing streaks in the series against SEMO and EIU this week.

The Redhawks have won the last 11 games in the series but officially lead the series 8-1 due to NCAA sanctions causing SEMO to forfeit three wins in the 2004-05 and 2005-06 seasons.

Eastern Illinois has won six straight games to take a 6-5 lead in the all-time series. The Panthers won 85-48 on Jan. 2 in Charleston, Ill.

The Panthers are 12-8 overall and are currently in first place in the OVC with an 8-1 record. EIU opens the week against Tennessee Tech on Thursday in Cookeville, Tenn. before traveling to Jacksonville for Saturday's contest.

Ta'Kenya Nixon leads the Panthers in scoring and rebounding, averaging 13 points and 6.5 rebounds per game. Maggie Kloak follows with 12 points and six rebounds per game and Dominique Sims chips in 10.4 points and 5.5 rebounds per game.

The games can be heard on WLJS FM 91.9 with Mike Parris calling the play-by-play. Live stats are available at www.jsugamecocksports.com.
