JACKSONVILLE – The Jacksonville State basketball team will host Tennessee State on Thursday at 6 p.m. in a game that will be nationally televised on ESPNU. It will be “Dollar to Holler” night at Pete Mathews Coliseum with all general admission tickets priced at just one dollar.

The Gamecocks welcome Tennessee State to Pete Mathews Coliseum for the first of a four-game homestand that could be crucial to JSU's run at the 2010 Ohio Valley Conference Tournament. JSU, who currently sits in sixth in the league standings, is only a game out of fourth place heading into the homestand that will bring two teams ahead of the Gamecocks and two behind them in the standings to “The Pete.”

The first of those foes, Tennessee State, comes calling for a game that will be nationally televised on ESPNU. It will be the 15th meeting between the Gamecocks and the Tigers and the eighth in Pete Mathews Coliseum. TSU holds an 8-6 advantage in the all-time series but is just 2-5 in its previous trips to Jacksonville. It will mark the second time the two have played on ESPNU, with the Gamecocks winning the first televised matchup, 72-64 at Pete Mathews Coliseum on Jan. 30, 2007.

JSU enters the homestand fresh off a 73-63 win at UT Martin on Saturday, a game that saw junior Nick Murphy net 22 points and sophomore Stephen Hall notch the fourth double-double of his career with 10 points and a game-high 13 rebounds. Murphy, a native of Bronx, N.Y., went 9-for-12 from the floor to lead all scorers, while Hall, a Birmingham native, grabbed 10 defensive rebounds and dished out a career-best six assists.

The Tigers will be making their second-straight appearance on ESPNU after falling at Austin Peay, 79-77 on Saturday. Josh Sain and Jacquan Nobles each scored 20 in the loss for the Tigers, who have dropped seven of their last eight games.

Sain leads TSU in scoring with 15.4 points per game, while Nobles is second on the team with 10.3 points per contest. Robert Covington rounds a trio of Tigers averaging double figures with 10.2 points per game.

Also at the game, fans will have their first opportunity to purchase Stadium Club level season tickets for 2010 Gamecock Football. Thursday is the first day they will go on sale to the general public, and can be purchased at Pete Mathews Coliseum during the basketball game.
