Live Stats

JACKSONVILLE –
Jacksonville State returns to action after the Christmas break against Talladega College on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in Pete Mathews Coliseum.

The Gamecocks enter the game with a 2-8 overall record following a 59-56 win over South Carolina State on Dec. 18 at the Hampton Inn and Suites Lady Osprey Holiday Classic in Jacksonville, Fla.

Sophomore Brittany Wiley led the Gamecocks to the come back win over SCSU with her first career double-double, scoring 23 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. The Carrollton, Ga., native scored 15 of her game-high 23 points in the final eight minutes of the contest to help the Gamecocks erase a 10-point deficit and earn All-Tournament honors in the process.

Wiley leads JSU with 8.7 points and 4.9 rebounds per game followed and is tied with freshman Karisma Boykin with 10 three pointers. Junior Zenobia Pitts follows Wiley with 8.6 points per game and ranks third with 4.1 rebounds per contest. Senior Jolie Efezokhae is scoring 7.2 points and is second with 4.4 rebounds per contest.

The Gamecocks welcome back Cierra Duhart, who returns after missing the 2008-09 season for medical reasons. Duhart, who was named to the Ohio Valley Conference All-Newcomer squad in 2007-08, led JSU with 7.8 rebounds and shot a team-high 57.7 percent from the floor while averaging 11.2 points per game.

Talladega College is 5-9 coming into the game after losses to Belhaven College and Tougaloo College.
