ASU Men Finish 3rd at SWAC Cross Country Championship

BATON ROUGE, La. – The Alabama State University men's cross country team finished third at the Southwestern Athletic Conference Championship Monday at Highland Park.

The Hornets, who finished with 60 points, were led by a pair of strong performances by Robert Gunn and Jephtah Kenei. Gunn finished fourth in 25:44.27 and Kenei was fifth at 25:49.56 on the 8k course. The ASU duo both earned All-SWAC first team honors.

Arkansas-Pine Bluff captured the team title with a total of 36 points. Mississippi Valley tallied 57 points to just edge the Hornets for second-place. Grambling State was fourth at 105 followed by Jackson State (122), Prairie View A&M (131), Alcorn State (206), Southern (213) and Texas Southern (252).
