On Saturday in Birmingham, Alabama at the Crossplex, Kayla Davis stepped onto the track at the Galleria Games and ran two US No. 1 time in the 200m and 400m dashes.

In the 400m, the Run U Xpress athlete cruised through her first lap and was able to maintain the lead throughout the course of the race. She increased her stride and speed in the last 200m. She stopped the clock at 55.00 to win the event and sprinted to the fastest time in the country.

Later, she stepped on the line for the 200m in lane five.

When the starting gun went off, she blasted out of the blocks and made up the stagger on the rest of the field, even with fatigue in her legs from the 400m earlier in the evening.

She came off the final turn in the lead and crossed the finish line in 23.92 to break the meet record and to set a new US. No. 1 in this event.

Davis' personal best was set at the VA Showcase last in 2019 when she ran a 23.62.
