Alex Eggleston made the long trek down to Alabama for the Southeast AAU Invitational a successful one.
Eggleston, representing the Speed Academy, clocked 2:03.22 for a dominant 800m victory in the 15-16 year-old division at the beautiful Birmingham CrossPlex.
The sophomore from Gahanna Lincoln had his foot on the gas from the onset, distancing himself from the field early and coming through 400m in 56+ seconds.
From there it was academic for Eggleston, as he cruised in with nearly a five second cushion on runner-up Dylan Haas, from the Fast Lane Track Club (West Palm Beach, FL), who recorded a time of 2:08 flat.
