Senior Sendoff: Anndrela Woods - Central Tuscaloosa

My most memorable meet was sectionals. I had the opportunity to challenge myself and my abilities because my events were very close together. I also ran the 200m for the first time in the outdoor season and, I did well.

In my opinion, there was not much competition in my individual events. The couple times that I lost cane down to me not executing like I should have. I know what I am capable of. Therefore, my biggest competition would have to be indoor relays.

Completing high school as Valedictorian of my class would be my accomplishment that stands out the most. It shows that working diligently and dedicating myself to succeed paid off.

If I could do it all over again, I wouldn't change anything about my running career. All of my successes, failures, strengths, weaknesses, experiences, and loved ones have made me into the person I am today. Yes, I could have ran faster, but my journey has opened my eyes to see the greatness I will unfold.

The most difficult obstacles I had to overcome during my HS track career was doubt and neglect. For a while I was the one that was never good enough and never would be great in other events. I also had very low self esteem and self confidence in myself.

I will miss the experience and all the great people that made this vision possible for me.

For younger athletes, I encourage you to believe in yourself ! Doubt is a barrier that can keep you from ever seeing success. It serves vital importance to believe and to see yourself doing things that have never been done before. Be willing to go the extra mile, put in effort to do the little things, dream big, keep the faith, work hard, and go get it.

After high school, I will be attending Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana where I will be continuing my track career and majoring in aeronautical engineering.

I would like to say thank you to Dr. Terrell Davis. He has encouraged me on and off the track and, he has never given up on me. No matter how hard things things got, he stuck with me, pushed me, and motivated me to persevere. He saw something in me that I didn't see in myself. And, he pushed me until I brought it out. We started the mission together and, we finished the mission together. He's the BEST Coach anyone could ask for, my best friend, and a great father figure. I would also like to specially thank my parents for their strong support system and helping to keep my head held high. They have supplied my every need stood by me. I love and appreciate all of them.
