The Kaelin Kersh and the George Kersh invitational 800 meter runs did not disappoint. In the girls race we had 4 girls break the 2:20 barrier. In the George Kersh race five boys broke 2:00. It was great racing.
Kaelin Kersh Memorial Invitational 800 Meter Run
This race was probably the best race in Mississippi girls history. Four girls broke 2:20 to set their personal best times. Three of the girls from Mississippi. Katelyn Cartwright, Hernando set the pace and led the way to the finish line in a nice 2:16.24. The way Mississippi is spread out in meets this is then only time some of these girls may race each other

George Kersh Invitational 800 Meter Run
Watch some of the top Mississippi boys (1 Alabama) 800 meter runners go head to head in a great race. This race produced the top three times in Mississippi this season. Patrick Spurgeon, Pearl achieved a goal that he has had in his last three races. Neither one of the top two seniors has signed with a four year college.

This next race was a very gutty effort as David Adams, Pearl set out to break 10:00 minutes to set a new personal record. As you watch the race you get to see an athlete who trained hard and achieved his goal. What made this run really good was that David did it entirely on his own, out front, running without some one to push him along. On the last lap you hear his coach on the PA calling out times to speed him to his sub 10:00 minute run. Enjoy.
