2018 Senior Sendoff: Lauryn Hall (Sparkman)

Athlete Name: Lauryn Hall
What was your most memorable meet and why? 2017 AAU Regional Meet held at Alabama A&M University where I ran my Personal Records of 11.55 and 23.68.
Where did you face your biggest competition? My fiercest competition was at New Balance Nationals. The nation's best athletes are there and the atmosphere is dynamic. I ran the State's best at 7.56m this year at New Balance Nationals Indoor Invitational.
Out of all of your high school accomplishments, which stands out the most and why? New Balance Nationals ranks as my biggest accomplishment; making it to semi-finals in the 60m dash and ranking 10th overall in the championship division and also being a 5-time State Champion in my high school career.
If you could do it all over again, what would you change about your running career in high school? Although I started track in the 8th grade, I wish I would have started earlier.
What were the most difficult obstacles you had to overcome during your HS track career? Performing at 2018 State Championship with a pulled hamstring to break the 7A State Record and finished 2nd.
What will you miss the most? I will miss my teammates especially my relay team sisters and competing at the State Championship.
Do you have any advice for younger athletes?  Always do your best. Stay humble and push yourself to be great! Tip: When your legs start burning after the 400, walk it off!! Don't sit down!
What are your post-high school or college plans?  I signed a national letter of intent to compete on an athletic scholarship at the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill.
Who would you like to say thank you to? My Dad, and Coach Austin & Coach Wheeler
